Zephyrhills, Florida, in Pasco county, is 19 miles NW of Lakeland, Florida (center to center) and 26 miles NE of Tampa, Florida . The city is located in the Tampa - Saint Petersburg - Clearwater metropolitan area. Zephyrhills has a population of 10,833.
Zephyrhills History
Earlier Zephyrhills was known as Abbott after doctor J.M. Abbott who practiced medicine in this area. Later on in 1909, Howard B. Jeffries, a Civil War veteran, picked out the area as a veteran's colony. He decided to name the new colony as Zephyrhills because of the zephyr-like breezes of this area. On 10 March, 1910 the name was changed officially and the town was incorporated later in 1914.

Things To Do In Zephyrhills
Zephyrhills is famous for its pure bottled water drawn from seven wells and is also known as the City of Pure Water. Away from the city chaos, you will find wonderful sceneries with a number of colorful citrus groves, pastoral cattle ranches and productive poultry farms. The city also offers year round excellent skydiving facilities. During winter, you can find numerous snowbirds assembling in the area for its warm weather.
