Sebring History
The city of Sebring, which is the county seat of Highland County, is nicknamed the "City on the Circle" because of the Circle Drive which in the Sebring Downtown Historic District. The city was named after the pottery manufacturer from Ohio, George Sebring. Founded in 1912, it was officially incorporated in 1913 and was selected as the county seat in 1921.
