Riviera Beach History
Riviera Beach was incorporated in Palm Beach County, Florida on September 29, 1922. It is a predominantly African American city at a very desirable location along the Lake Worth Lagoon. This city boasts of the Port of Palm Beach and a United States Coast Guard station, and also has its own marina. However, the crime rates are consistently above the United States average, and the city also has a high poverty level.

The Riviera Beach area has a beautiful Marina which is not only a dock but also an excellent stopover for a run to the Bahamas. The Rapids Water Park has fun rides that both kids and grownups will enjoy. The Blue Heron Fleet has two boats departing from Palm Beach Inlet that travel to natural and artificial reefs. At these reefs one can catch snapper, mackerel, grouper, cobia, and other bottom species. The Dyer Park boasts of sports facilities including baseball and football fields, and basketball and sand volleyball courts. It is also ideal for those interested in biking or horseback riding.
