Pembroke Park, Florida, in Broward county, is 2 miles SW of Hollywood, Florida (center to center) and 14 miles N of Miami, Florida. The town has a population of 6,299.
Pembroke Park History
The area now known as Pembroke Park was once comprised of quarries, nurseries, and mobile home parks. Initially, it was called "Holly Hills", and "Hollywood Ridge Farms". On December 10, 1957, the town was incorporated as "Pembroke Park". Since it was located close to the Florida Turnpike and I-95, Pembroke Park quickly attracted numerous warehouses and other industrial businesses. The town is in Broward County, which was founded on April 30, 1915 and was named in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, who served as the Governor of Florida from 1905 to 1909.

Pembroke Park offers easy access to numerous museums and historical sites. The Old Fort Lauderdale Village & Museum includes the 1905 Philemon Bryan House, the Old Fort Lauderdale Museum of History, and a pioneer museum. Old Davie School Historical Museum, the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, the Museum of Discovery and Science, the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame & Museum, and the International Swimming Hall of Fame are all within 10 miles of the town. Barnacle State Historical Site, Bonnet House, and Stranahan House are some of the historical sites close to Pembroke Park. At the John U. Lloyd Beach State Recreation Area, visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and picnicking. The park also includes beaches and nature trails.
