Orange Park History
Orange Park was named because its earliest founders hoped to establish a fruit-growing industry in the area. The Florida Winter Home and Improvement Company founded the town in 1877. This company purchased thousands of acres land at Laurel Grove in order to create a retreat and small farming community. Orange Park was incorporated in 1879.

The Little Talbot Island State Park is an undeveloped barrier island where visitors can find Gopher tortoise, owls and hawks.
