North Lauderdale, Florida, in Broward county, is 1 miles E of Tamarac, Florida (center to center) and 30 miles N of Miami, Florida. It's part of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area. The city has an ethnically diverse population. It includes the first Municipal Charter High School in the nation. The climate is pleasant for most of the year.
North Lauderdale History
North Lauderdale was initially conceived as "The City of Tomorrow" by the renowned architect Morris Lapidus. It was incorporated in 1963. The county had been a prominent agricultural area but substantial development, beginning in the mid 1970's has significantly changed the region.

North Lauderdale features a large number of parks for a town its size. The popular Biscayne National Park is nearby and includes interesting mangroves and offers clear water for those who enjoy snorkeling. The nearby Fort Lauderdale offers beautiful beaches and is a popular destination for snorkeling and diving due to its excellent natural reefs. The region is well known for its large number of quality golf courses.
