Lighthouse Point History
The area which is now known as Lighthouse Point was once filled with fertile farmland and mangrove swamps. The first house in this area was built by Ms. Juliette Becker in 1947. In 1951, R.E. Bateman purchased land for development. The town of Lighthouse Point was incorporated in 1956. Between 1957 and 1969, Venetian Isles and Lighthouse Manor were added as subdivisions. Then in 1970, Pompano Waterway Estates and Coral Key were officially declared as parts of Lighthouse Point.
