Lauderdale Lakes History
The Lauderdale Lakes city was incorporated on June 22, 1961, by a charter approved by the State Legislature. It is in the heart of the Broward County, centered at the crossroads of State Road 7 and Oakland Park Boulevard. The community was basically rural, but has of late grown into a vibrant community boasting a diverse population, economic vitality and beautiful neighborhoods surrounded by sparkling lakes.
