Hialeah Gardens History
The foundation of Hialeah Gardens’ existence was sown in December 1948 when twelve people of the area unanimously voted to form a small community of 26 registered voters. This community was incorporated to form the town of Hialeah Gardens. The following months saw the adoption of the first building code, permit and inspection fee. The first traffic ordinance was passed and laws were formulated to regulate hunting. The town went on to develop into a significant municipality of Dade County.
