Auburndale, Florida, in Polk county, is 10 miles E of Lakeland, Florida (center to center) and 41 miles E of Tampa, Florida. The city benefits from easy access to the nearby cities and towns with which it shares the Lakeland - Winter Haven metropolitan area. Auburndale contains a population of approximately 11,032.

Auburndale History

In 1873 John Ledue was the first to settle on the Lake Ariana region of Auburndale. The railroad through the area was completed in the early 1884. In July of 1884, Auburndale received its name. However, the city experienced two devastating fires in 1913 and 1915. In 1920 Auburndale was incorporated with several picturesque Spanish style structures and during the late 1940s and '50s the city took many steps for its improvement and growth.
